Panta rhei: everything flows

 Dear blog,

have you ever had that feeling of losing interest in something you used to be passionate about? Whether it’s a sport, a hobby, or an artist.
I just feel like things aren’t the same anymore. Everything keeps changing. And I’m changing too. That is what scares me more than anything else.
I am constantly afraid of change, whether it's drastic or minor. I am so cozy in my comfort zone and my habits that even the smallest different action could destroy the tall tower I have built with such care and dedication over the years.
Yet, I keep hearing people say that to truly live, you need to step out of your comfort zone. And actually, now that I reflect on it carefully, I can't help but think about all the opportunities I’ve missed and failed to seize just because I was too "shy"—all those occasions that would have led me to be a different person, maybe less shy, maybe better. I also think about those trips I couldn't take. Those people I couldn't meet. Those photos I never took. Those moments I failed to live to the fullest.
And that’s when I realize how necessary changes are. How important it is for us, as people, to grow and try to become a better version of ourselves day by day. Change is inevitable.
There is a quote that stuck with me during a philosophy class: "you cannot step into the same river twice," and that’s because panta rhei, meaning everything flows. Water flows and changes endlessly, so when you go back to the river to dive in again, you must know you will never find the same water, not even the water from two seconds ago. And just like water, people are bound to change. So know this: you will never meet the same person twice, not even within the same person, because nothing is destined to stay still.
Every day, every minute, every second, we become different people.
For this reason, we might as well change and try new things. Every action we take is followed by a consequence, whether positive or negative, so who knows—maybe doing things differently could bring positive results. And if they turn out to be negative, I am sure they will be essential for learning important life lessons.
That being said, tip of the day: step out of your comfort zone sometime and try new experiences!♡

Panta rhei: tutto scorre

 Dear blog,

Tutto continua a cambiare. E sto cambiando pure io.

Ogni giorno, ogni minuto, ogni secondo diventiamo persone diverse.

I wish to be poetry

Dear blog,
lately, I’ve been thinking a lot about love in general. I think I’m almost obsessed with the idea of being loved. It’s not that I’m desperate, I just can’t wait to meet my future true love. Sometimes, though, I fear that day will never come, and I convince myself that maybe it’s better to be alone, and that I don’t need anyone else but myself.
There are moments when I feel insecure and think about how ashamed I would be to show those sides of myself to my partner, sides that do nothing but haunt me every day and that I just can’t change. In those moments, I realize it’s easier to just mind my own business. But the thought makes me sad because it’s not what I truly want. I want to be loved for who I am, but it sounds hypocritical because I’m not even capable of doing that myself.
These days, I also spend hours thinking about how I will meet my soulmate: could it be at university? At a concert? Could he dial the wrong number and text me by mistake? Could I meet him in a nice coffee shop? Or at the library? Or on the subway? Could he have accidentally taken something of mine and tried to find a way to contact me? Or maybe he saw me talking to myself by chance and fell in love with me...? (Ok that’s not realistic, but dreaming is free).
I don’t know where or how, but I hope and pray to destiny that the day we meet will be magical. And above all, I hope that when that day comes, I will have learned to care for myself, if not love myself.
Today I read a quote that I think changed (at least in part) the way I see love: "don't ever be someone's slogan, because you are poetry." This phrase touched me deeply. You must never change to please or to be liked by others. You must never settle for being a slogan, a catchy phrase created just to be memorized and to sell (in this case, a feeling). Instead, it’s better to stay true to yourself because, in the eyes of those who truly love you, you are something that goes beyond words themselves—you are poetry.
And that is exactly how I want to be seen: as something you cannot understand immediately, but that feels and conveys emotions and feelings.
I wish to be poetry.

Desidero essere poesia

 Dear blog,

ultimamente sto pensando molto all'amore in generale.

Oppure in biblioteca? O in metro?

This is my first post!

First of all, I’d like to introduce myself (while trying to stay somewhat anonymous): I’m a 19-year-old girl with zero experience in love. I think I’m one of those girls who believes in true love and destiny, but at the same time, I want my peace undisturbed by any male living being—or, as I like to call them, "aliens." Contradictory, right?

In this blog, I’ll mostly talk about my life, my thoughts, my opinions, and life lessons that I’ll surely learn by making mistakes or that will be taught to us by wise people like my dad, or just strangers.

The main purpose is to use it as a sort of diary, except it won't be a secret one this time.
The title comes exactly from this idea: "dear blog" replaces the usual phrase used when writing in a diary ("dear diary"). Plus, by using the english expression, and just the word "blog" in general, I want to make my blog universal, so that anyone (of any age or gender) can feel represented or join the conversation!
I'm open to reflections, opinions, or constructive criticism :)

I apologize in advance for any grammatical errors or typos: speaking three languages, it’s highly likely I'll get confused and mistype or use the wrong words. 🙏

That being said, I hope my posts can help you in some way, or at least keep you entertained! ♡

Contraddittorio, no?
